Impact Booster: Make Sustainability Your Unfair Advantage

Aalto Startup Center's main accelerator, the Business Generator program, will have a specific focus on sustainability with practical sessions so our startups can understand and implement a better sustainability approach to their activities.

We are proud to say that an essential part of what we do at Aalto Startup Center is with the goal to shape a sustainable future, but... What do we mean by that?

Our main accelerator program has always had a heavy emphasis on sustainability, and this upcoming season it will be even more prominent with the implementation of the "Impact Booster", a module that will be integrated into the Business Generator trainings. There are 3 levels:

  • Understand your own impact.
  • Understand how you can help customers to be more sustainable.
  • How to turn sustainability into a fair advantage.

On practical terms, this means that we are putting together a series of workshops for our startups where top experts in the field of sustainability will help our companies and research teams understand why it is important to take sustainability into account in their activities and how to implement it in a practical way. It's not going to be all theory; we are going to help you take small steps to incorporate this "must-have" sustainability approach to your actions.

During the sessions, we will help you assess your own impact by calculating the CO emissions and understanding the life cycle analysis. We will also teach how to help your customers be more sustainable, and how to turn all these learnings into your fair advantage.

Not only that, but we will be able to check if the modules are actually helping the startups be more sustainable by following the sustainability readiness level strategy (which is a part of the innovation readiness level method). The goal is to take your company two or three levels higher than where you started.
