Aalto Startup Center is a hybrid accelerator offering its own incubator and accelerator services, as well as several partnership programs. Its focus is on sustainable research-based and innovative deep-tech startups.
For most programs, the call is open twice a year. Check the website of the project you are interested in for the specific dates.
The staff will review the applications and will get back to you shortly. If you applied during an open call, you will receive an answer after the call closes.
We provide trainings and workshop about multiple topics, around 50 per semester. Each startup has a designated business advisor with whom you can work on your business plan, alongside other advisors experts in different areas. You will have access to A Grid, home for nearly 150 ambitious startups and partners, located in the heart of Otaniemi (Espoo, Finland). Depending on the project, you might also have access to other facilities.
No, most of the projects are aimed for other professionals since you need to have your startup registered. If you are a student, check out Aalto Digital Creatives' website. The project supports students, researchers, and practitioners in creative industries on their path toward entrepreneurship.
For our main core accelerator program, the Business Generator Accelerator Program, you should meet the following criteria: solve sustainability challenges and/or are a deep-tech startup; your Finnish business ID must be under 3 years; you have a scalable business model; MVP, Proof-of-concept or validated concept; your team has technical and business oriented co-founders, a minimum of 2 full-time employees.

Startups can stay at the Aalto Startup Center for a varied duration, depending on their specific needs and circumstances, but the maximum duration is usually 3 years.
Aalto Startup Center helps with the scaling up of the company by networking with international partners and by connecting the startups to big corporates.
