ESA Phi-Lab Open Call was announced in GeoForum Summit

ESA Phi-Lab Finland and ESA BIC Finland teams joined forces this week while participating together in this year’s main geospatial event in Finland, GeoForum Summit 2025. Many updates were announced on the latest space topics in Finland.

The two-day event took place in Dipoli, Otaniemi and offered a wide overview on current development in the geospatial industry and as it was one of this year’s main theme also to space aspects of it.

Included in the program was the Finnish Space Strategy 2030, the story of how many of the Finnish new space companies have had their origins in Otaniemi and also the first introduction to the newly started SPACECONOMY program, which will start a wider collaboration between Finnish space universities and the industry.

In the last session of the event also the next cutoff day for ESA Phi-Lab Finland’s open call was revealed, which is now set on 20th of November. The current open call of offering technical and business support with funding between 200k€ and 500 k€ for space related geospatial technology commercialization projects. The projects can also utilize wide range of research infrastructure offered by the Phi-Lab consortium members.
