Come meet our innovations at Arctic15 (4-5 June)

We are going to Arctic15 with 20 of our startups and deep tech projects. Come to our pavilion to learn all about them!
Arctic15 2025 - Aalto Startup Center

Aalto Startup Center is, once more, a proud main partner of the Arctic15 event taking place on June 4-5 at Cable Factory. This is a great opportunity to learn about the work that we do but, most importantly, meet the startups and research to business projects from our portfolio.

These are the startups and research to business projects you will find at our pavilion:

  • Droplet Instruments: Accurate measurement of stiction and adhesion forces is crucial for developing miniaturized electronic devices, modern implants, new nano-based formulations, and quality assurance in manufacturing, particularly in the burgeoning Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) market.
  • BIMSpect: Design monitoring and control tool that aims to enhance the management of design projects in the construction industry. BIMSpect combines construction management research and computer science to develop an application that tracks design dynamics.
  • BOMP: uses Machine Learning to produce the optimal interface between the factory management end-user and raw data from material properties in an industrial production environment. It aims to optimize materials selection, design, and processing via two learning components: exploring and exploiting “small data” to discover hidden patterns.
  • NeGenYasa: Advanced motor design with modular structure, compact size, and lightweight while significantly enhancing efficiency through a 50% reduction in production materials, leading to substantial cost savings.
  • Symptonic: Symptonic is a research initiative at Aalto University, supported by Business Finland's Research to Business funding, dedicated to developing advanced technology for reliable detection of various disorders through speech signal analysis. This non-invasive, cost-effective, and scalable approach aims to transform global healthcare by enabling early detection and monitoring of diseases.
  • Bubbles with Benefits: They develop 100% bio-based bubble wraps and packing foams to replace plastics. Besides being fully plastic-free and biodegradable, the cellulose-based materials are also customizable to match any brand's aesthetic, showing that being sustainable does not have to look boring and brown.
  • CloViC: CloViC is an online web platform enabling remote and collaborative commissioning for system integrators that aims at reducing the time, cost, and energy spent on commissioning intelligent automation systems based on the upcoming open automation standard IEC 61499.
  • DIAMANT: Project Diamant focuses on novel thin membrane antenna technology development and commercialization for space applications. In today's interconnected world, the demand for reliable 5G and emerging 6G connectivity is paramount, spanning across urban centers to remote regions.
  • Discharge Innovations: Smarter EV Battery Recycling solutions. The innovations ensure safe storage, automate discharging, and use eco-friendly processes. They minimize harmful chemicals and energy while recovering active materials.
  • KOKO Forest: KOKO Forest creates novel insights into forest ecosystems using state-of-the-art satellite technologies, artificial intelligence and cross-disciplinary ecological knowhow.
  • SHARPNAV: We provide precise navigation and timing in conditions where traditional approaches fail.
  • Oinride: Oinride develops autonomous mobility solutions for extreme weather, combining advanced robotics, AI, and robust hardware for reliable operation. Its innovation enhances adaptability and safety, aiming to revolutionize the mining industry, construction, and off-road robotics.
  • Lensor: We support farmers and land owners to transition to regenerative land management practices with our AI-backed remote sensing solutions.
  • Paahtu: Paahtu transforms used coffee grounds from local businesses into eco-friendly, burnable coffee logs, offering a sustainable alternative to traditional fuels.
  • Accentric: Our big goal is to make lighting around us beautiful, affordable and sustainable. For this, we are building a visual AI-assistant for B2B professionals.
  • Taru Tech: The innovation uses machine learning tools, such as reinforcement learning for user modeling, to produce synthetic data about human behavior in games, such as player engagement.
  • Uniki: Sustainable packaging material for plastic replacement. The material is a composite of wood fibers and bio-based polymer. The new packaging materials are bio-based, bio-degradable and recyclable with paper.
  • Nite Labs: A comprehensive ecosystem that includes hardware, software, and a curated marketplace, all designed to work seamlessly together. Our goal is to offer artists a practical, accessible, and intuitive solution to enhance their performances.
  • Automous: Deep tech spin-off from Aalto University with roots in world class research. We are trailblazers in electricity market forecasting, energy asset modelling, and optimal scheduling and bidding of energy assets in multiple electricity markets.
  • Circular Foams: Sustainable, lightweight acoustic foam material with tunable acoustic and mechanical properties.

In total, we are taking over 50 startups from our projects to the event! Come meet the 20 startups that we will have at our booth but also feel free to ask about other startups from our portfolio. We will be more than happy to connect you with the right person. See you there!
