Deltan Labs is an Aalto University spinoff founded in 2026, originating from the BOMP research-to-business (R2B) project from Aalto University’s Department of Applied Physics. Their Bayesian Machine Learning platform transforms industrial R&D and production by replacing manual trial-and-error with continuous, data-efficient optimization of materials and production processes.

Meet our startup: Proteins.1 aims for a breakthrough in early disease detection

Biotechnology startup Proteins.1 is developing a technology that could enable the detection of diseases such as cancer months, or even years, earlier than is currently possible. The key lies in identifying individual proteins from a blood sample.

ESA Phi-Lab Finland welcomes two new projects to accelerate space-enabled innovation

The ESA-funded programme, run by Aalto Startup Center, has selected its third and fourth projects to receive innovation funding. The projects were chosen by a Tender Evaluation Board represented by the European Space Agency, Aalto University, the University of Vaasa, the Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) and the Finnish Geospatial Research Institute (FGI).
