Founded in 2024, Lensor grew out of a shared ambition to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our time: understanding how nature functions within our rapidly expanding built environments. Throughout our first year, we worked closely with pilot customers, municipalities, and environmental stakeholders, learning firsthand how difficult it is to obtain consistent, validated habitat information across complex urban landscapes. This revealed a clear need for easy-to-use, high-precision, and regularly updated ecological data.

Today, our team with a strong technology background delivers advanced habitat intelligence by fusing satellite imagery, LiDAR, and ground observations into transparent, actionable insights. Our work with the City of Helsinki and recent pilot projects—such as habitat mapping, vegetation-health monitoring, and invasive-species detection—have demonstrated how AI-powered remote sensing can reduce unnecessary fieldwork, support evidence-based decision-making, and enable nature-positive planning at scale.

One year after founding, we remain focused on creating impact where nature and cities meet. By providing trusted data and powerful analytics, Lensor aims to help cities and organisations build healthier, more biodiverse, and more resilient urban environments.
