From Vision to Impact: Building a Sustainable Startup

We will explore the concepts of impact and sustainability, why they are critical in today’s business landscape, and how startups can integrate these principles from the ground up.

The workshop will also cover frameworks such as the Theory of Change and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as frameworks for building impactful and sustainable businesses. Participants will leave with practical insights and actionable steps to apply to their startup journey. The goal is to equip participants with practical steps to implement sustainability and impact strategies in their startups.

At the end of the workshop the teams will have a slide for their pitch deck that outlines the company’s vision of impact and the foundation for developing the company’s sustainability KPIs.

Objectives:

1. Understand Impact and Sustainability: Define what impact and sustainability mean in the context of startups, and why integrating them is crucial for long-term success.
2. Translating Company Goals into Impact: Learn how to align product-focused organizational goals with the broader impact the company wants to create.
3. Introduction to the Theory of Change: Learn how to use the Theory of Change as a strategic tool for planning and measuring impact.
4. Aligning with SDGs: Understand the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and how startups can use them as impact indicators.
