Aalto R2B monthly meeting (November)
What funding opportunities are available once your R2B project becomes a startup? Planning the next stages of financing early can help your future company combine private investment with non-dilutive public funding and build a more credible roadmap for continued R&D, commercialization, and international growth.
In this R2B Monthly Meeting, Jaana Rantanen, Chief Innovation Advisor at Business Finland, will introduce the funding opportunities available to research-based and deep-tech startups after spinout, including the latest developments in Business Finland's funding instruments and their requirements. An Aalto University alumna herself, Jaana has spent much of her career supporting inventors and research-based spinouts with early-stage innovation funding.
Learning outcomes
After this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the main Business Finland funding opportunities available after R2B.
- Recognize which funding instruments may be relevant at different stages of startup development.
- Understand the basic requirements and evaluation criteria for Business Finland startup funding.
- See how public funding can complement private investment and the startup's overall financing plan.
- Plan the transition from R2B funding towards continued R&D, commercialization, and international growth.

Who should attend?
This is a closed event for Aalto Research to Business project teams. Business Developers, Technology Champions, researchers, and other R2B team members are all warmly encouraged to attend.
The session is particularly valuable for teams approaching spinout or beginning to plan how their future company will finance continued technology development, commercialization, and growth after the R2B project ends.
