23 of Aalto Startup Center’s ecosystem startups are attending the Arctic15 event. Arctic15 is a Startup Investor Event and a meeting spot for startup entrepreneurs, investors, corporates and media from 60+ countries.

Who are you and what do you do?

UCT-DC: We are team UCT-DC developing ultra-compact transceivers for data centers. Our approach combines graphene with silicon photonics in a unique way.

What kind of team do you have at the moment? 

UCT-DC: Team UCT-DC is based on cutting edge research conducted at Aalto University and at the University of Eastern Finland.

What is your innovation?

UCT-DC: Industry’s first ultra-compact transceiver in a small silicon chip, based on cutting research on graphene and Silicon photonics.

What kind of problem does your innovation solve?

UCT-DC: Cost, compact footprint, speed and cryogenic operations.

What is your idea’s impact for society?

UCT-DC: High speed communication at a very low cost, enabling operation also at cryogenic temperatures.

What are you currently looking for and what are your next steps?

UCT-DC: Collaborators and funding partners. During 2023 our goal is to finish the demonstration of our technology and prepare a business plan.
