CUBE PLUS 2

Who are you and what do you do?

CUBE PLUS: Majid Karami and Maryam Aliyari are the two main members of the CUBE PLUS startup and they have been active in the urban furniture fields for many years, and have several inventions and have different titles in the field of electricity and new energies. We design and make smart urban furniture for Smart Cities with a modern approach: clean, tech and health, tech of parametric architecture and powered by solar energy.

What kind of team do you have at the moment?

CUBE PLUS: Cube Plus Company was founded by the two main founders, Maryam Aliyari and Majid Karami. They have a master’s degree in architecture and Dr. Mahdi Pourakbari was also added to this team as a colleague in the project. Currently, Mahdi is an assistant professor in the field of electricity at Aalto University and has a lot of experience in clean energy.

What is your innovation?

CUBE PLUS: The smart urban bench is a reliable and low-cost solution for the operation of urban management for citizens, which provides them with various facilities, needed by citizens with clean and free energy. Providing a comfortable place to sit in the city, beautiful design and attractive, lighting for the night, mobile charger, time-temperature-date display, internet and an attractive place for urban advertising in one package.

What kind of problem does your innovation solve?

CUBE PLUS: People spend a lot of their time outside the house and in the streets and passages and do many of their daily tasks through mobile phones and the Internet, and the problem that exists is loss of charge and not having additional facilities in the city. This is despite the fact that in many cases access to mobile phone charging facilities, internet etc. outside the house and in the city is a bit difficult and there is always a need for urban elements accessible to the public to solve the problems like electricity and internet and other ancillary facilities.

What is your idea’s impact?

CUBE PLUS: Our users are the people of a community; this community can be urban or rural. Our goal is to provide a different product to improve the society to reach a smart city. Many societies seek to use renewable energies to optimize cities and focus on promoting sustainable economic development. On the other hand, by placing these benches in places where providing services is difficult and expensive, it has a cost-effective and smart method for urban management and it could be said, that with this possibility smart cities and communities in times of crisis will be much safer.
