Meaningful advice from investors

It can take a long time before science-based solutions reach the consumer. Moreover, these innovations often fail to establish an entrepreneurial breakthrough due to lack of or delayed exposure to the right market, customers and investors.

Science Base Camp was launched to enable the teams and startups to get timely and meaningful advice from investors.

Network of ten institutions

Among the university network was ten institutions, including Aalto University/Startup Center, Chalmers University of Technology, University of Jyväskylä, Tampere University, TalTech, University of Tartu, Tehnopol and Tartu Science Park.

The event gathered more than 20 international experienced angel investors and venture capital firms with an understanding of deeptech and R&D, such as Superangel, Nordic Ninja, Norrsken VC, Voima Ventures, Butterfly Ventures, Inventure, Karma VC.

During Science Base Camp, selected teams worked alongside the investors, entrepreneurs and experts to solve individual challenges and increase commercialisation potential. To help the teams explain the uniqueness and potential of their technology in a simple and convincing way, they also entitled to pitch coaching training ahead of the main event.
